Welcome to Mussels of Texas (MoTX)! The MoTX is a comprehensive, high-quality biodiversity database of freshwater mussel occurrences covering the entire state of Texas. By providing this easy-to-search database to researchers, government agencies, and the public, we hope to facilitate reliable, instructive analysis of the conservation status of freshwater mussels in Texas, and provide a timely tool to aid researches and resource managers in effectively utilizing limited conservation resources. The MoTX is an Internet-based program and requires no software to download.
MoTX has been developed under the sponsorship of the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). Any data sharing or distribution, unless otherwise specifically provided for, is prohibited without the approval of the Texas A&M Natural Resources Institute (NRI).
